REMEMBERING KIRK GRYBOWSKI IN THE CHORALE

Dear Source,
I've read with heartache each article in St. Thomas Source of the passing of many notable Virgin Islanders. However, it was a mouth-dropping shock to read of Kirk Grybowski's sudden death. I enjoyed Kirk's tales and photos of his and Judy's travels to so many far away places.
What wasn't mentioned about Kirk, was that along with all the other things he was involved in, he also sang classical music. That's right, Kirk was a member of the Caribbean Chorale for many years. He was dedicated. He was always at rehearsals. And he was funny. Dr. Larry Benjamin, the former director, could also tell you about Kirk's participation in Chorale. I remember that, during the time I served as president of the Chorale, whenever I ran into Kirk we would chat and he would offer suggestions, tell stories that made me laugh, and he always offered to help whenever or wherever he could.
I will remember Kirk with great fondness. I extend my condolences to Judy and his family.
