Sept. 26, 2002 – In late February, Coral World Marine Park was happily inundated with calls after announcing that it would give away a birthday party at Coral World to one lucky child and 15 of his or her friends. A week later a winner was announced, 6-year-old Kenesha Bryan of St. Thomas.
Sunday, Sept. 29, Kenesha and friends will celebrate her seventh birthday in the Blue Water Terrace at Coral World from 12 to 2 p.m.
Party guests will be treated to pizza and punch, chocolate cake and ice cream, goody bags for the children, and an exclusive animal activity. And everyone can enjoy all of the marine exhibits, including the fish feeding shows scheduled throughout the day.
"Each year Coral World becomes a more popular venue for children's birthday parties," said Allegra Kean, the park's marketing manager. According to Kean, Sunday's party will be the sixth for the month.
Coral World offers three birthday party packages. All include invitations, decorations, pizza and punch and admission to the park.
The Jumbo Fishy Fiesta includes a supervised animal activity and goody bags, and the Sleepover Party includes an evening tour, movie, an overnight in the Caribbean Reef Encounter exhibit, and breakfast in the morning.
Rates for birthday parties range from $15 per person to $35 per person for the sleepover. Coral World members receive a 10 percent discount.
