UVI to Recognize Volunteers
During National Volunteer Week – April 21 to 27 – UVI plans to recognize and thank students, faculty, staff and alumni who serve the community in volunteer positions. Anyone who serves in any type of volunteer capacity is asked to contact Deborah Hamilton at 693-1042 or send e-mail to dhamilt@uvi.edu .
Carnival Troupe Practices Continue
Practices for UVI's 2002 Carnival Troupe continue every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 4:30 p.m. Practices are now being held in the cafeteria on the St. Thomas Campus.
Spring Banquet and Ball Set for April 19 on St. Croix
The Student Government Association's social and cultural committee will sponsor the 11th Annual Spring Banquet and Ball, at 8 p.m. Friday, April
19, at the St. Croix Village Botanical Garden. The theme is "A Night as Precious as Pearls." Attire is formal, and the selected colors are shades of white.
Tickets are $25 for students and $30 for faculty, staff and alumni. Tickets are available at the Student Activities Office, the Academic Services Office and residence halls, or by calling 692-4248 or 692-4188.
Reichhold Issues Casting Call with New Audition Dates
UVI's Reichhold Center for the Arts has announced a casting call for the upcoming production of "For Better, For Worse." The play, written by David Edgecombe, is a comedy about two youngsters who threaten the conventional values of love and society. Show dates will be June 7-10, June 14-17, June 21-24, and June 28 to July 1. There is also a possibility of off-island performances.
Needed are: two males ages 40-50, two females ages 40-50, two males in their early to mid 20s, two females ages 20-30, and one girl in her late teens.
Interested parties are asked to attend auditions at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, and Wednesday, April 17, at the Reichhold Center. For details call 693-1550.
