MAN STABS 3 FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIEND

Four people, three of them family members, were wounded in a Thanksgiving Day stabbing rampage.
James Laudat, 30, was arrested at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday after stabbing his mother, stepfather and sister in a domestic dispute that occurred about seven hours earlier. A fourth person, a friend of Laudat’s sister, was also wounded in the melee, according to police officials.
Each of the victims suffered major slashes — ranging in seriousness from first- to third-degree — to the head, neck, hands, back and chest, said Juan F. Luis Hospital officials. Emergency doctors operated on Laudat’s stepfather to remove the knife blade that had broken off in his back. Police were investigating the incident over the weekend to determine a motive. Laudat’s bail was set at $100,000.
