Local residents with a yen to appear in tourism photos shot on St. John have their chance next week. The Tourism Department has put out a casting call for 9 a.m. Monday at the department's St. Thomas office in Contant, across the street from the Nisky Moravian Church, and across from the old AQ Supermarket.
The actual shoot will be on Wednesday on St. John, beginning in the morning and likely running all day. Caroline Simon, Tourism film production coordinator, said the photos will be used for print advertisements promoting the territory for the winter season. Those chosen as models will be paid, though Simon said the amount has not been determined.
"We need several models for a variety of shots," Simon said. She said specific targets are African-American and Caucasian men and women ages 25-45 years old, for shots as couples or individually, and for Caucasian men and women 45 and older. For more information, call Tourism at 774-8784.
