TRAFFIC LIGHT AT MANDELA CIRCLE NOT WORKING

The traffic light at Mandela Circle is not working. According to a release from Government House, it is temporarily out of service and should be repaired by the end of the work day Friday.
The traffic circle is heavily trafficked on days when cruise ships are docked at the West Indian Co. dock since it feeds traffic from the dock to downtown Charlotte Amalie. However, no ships were in port Thursday or Friday.
At mid-day Thursday traffic was flowing smoothly through the intersection.
Acting Public Works Commissioner Wayne D. Callwood warned motorists and pedestrians to exercise "extreme caution" when traversing the area.
