COOK-RUTNIK HAS PASTELS SHOW IN ANGUILLA

A collection of Janet Cook-Rutnik's new pastels is on exhibit at the Savannah Gallery in Anguilla. This is the St. John artist's second annual one-woman show at the gallery, located on Crocus Road in the Valley.
Collectively titled "Island Dreams," the show features nine scenes of what the artist describes as "the typical Caribbean romance" — seascapes, sunsets and cottages. Also included are a couple of pieces from her "Island Mystique" series of floating people which she began about five years ago as an expression of the evocative nature and mystical experience of Caribbean life.
At the reception opening the show on Feb. 9, Cook-Rutnik says, the many guests viewed her works as they enjoyed the champagne, coffee and chocolate croissants the gallery offered. The show will hang through the end of February.
The artist's recent works may be seen on her website, www.cookrutnikART.vi. For more information, call 776-6809 or e-mail to cookrutnik@islands.vi.
