ST. CROIX GETS ECO-ATTENTION IN MAGAZINE

The March issue of Travel Holiday magazine has a three-page spread that focuses on St. Croix's ecological attractions to visitors — jagged cliffs, quiet pastoral roads and rolling green hills.
A release from the Tourism Department quotes writer Mary Lynn Mitcham as saying that for those "who like dabbling in the great outdoors more than sleeping in it — say, hiking for an hour or snorkeling for an afternoon" — St. Croix "fits right in with our version of ecotourism."
Illustrating the article, according to the release, are photographs of Buck Island, sugar mills and horseback riding.
The Virgin Islands recently received a Caribbean Insider Award from the magazine for having one of the 25 "best ways to get wet" in the region.
