MAN ROBBED WHILE ON PHONE WITH POLICE

A St. Thomas man was robbed early Tuesday morning while on the phone with police. An investigation continues into the downtown Charlotte Amalie robbery that occurred as the victim was calling police from his cellular phone to report two suspicious males near the Leonard J. Dober Elementary School.
Police officials told the Source that while dispatchers were taking the information from the citizen, they heard a scuffle and when the man returned to the phone, he reported that he had been robbed of some personal effects by the same two males.
The unidentified victim was apparently not injured. The suspects ran off toward the Rothschild Francis "Market" Square area on foot after the incident.
Anyone with information should contact police at 774-4050 or the emergency number, 911.
