MARTIN LUTHER KING 5K RACE

Eleven hardy runners braved the gale force winds on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. to compete in the Martin Luther King 5K Run.
The challenging race began at Vitraco Park, looped around Sugar Estate once and then twice around the perimeter of the Roy L. Schneider Hospital.
The first finisher was Claire Ochoa with a time of 21:31.
Following her was Luis Cladera at 21:42.
The second male finisher was Peter Alter in 21:52 ; followed by Jim Hilbert in 22:23.
The second woman was Jude Woodcock in 23:25. She was followed very closely by Grace Tuma in 23:26.
The remaining runners were Bill Bredenbeck in 23:55, Thomas Kelly in 24:05, Frank Jackson in 24:52, Lynn Hinkey in 25:53, and Annette Prahzak in 29:19.
The next running event is a 2 mile Fun Run/Walk for the United Way
on January 23 at 4:00 at the Coast Guard Dock on the waterfront.
