IEKHS REOPENED AFTER JOB ACTION

The Ivanna Eudora Kean High School is reopening Friday after teachers and staff walked off the job Wednesday to protest unsafe conditions at the school.
The protest centered around slippery conditions in the school's parking lot and water leaking in and around the school's gymnasium.
In announcing the return to classes, Insular Superintendent Rosalia Payne thanked the school's administration, staff and faculty for "their patience."
Payne said students, faculty and staff were expected to report at regularly scheduled reporting times. It made no mention of whether or when Kean students will make up the lost classroom time.
