THREE MEN INJURED IN REVENGE SHOOTING

Three young men were treated for gunshot wounds resulting from an early Sunday morning shooting near building nine of the Michael J. Kirwan Terrace Housing Community.
Law enforcement sources say the shooting stemmed from an ongoing turf battle between factions of different public housing communities. About two weeks ago, the home of one of Sunday’s shooting victims was reportedly riddled with gunfire.
Police investigators recovered about two dozen spent casings from the pre-dawn shootout.
One of the victims is reported to be the son of a retired police corporal.
The victims' injuries reportedly ranged from gunshots to the torso to one victim having his head grazed with a bullet. There was no word from police on the shooting or whether any of the suspects were hospitalized or treated and released.
While not confirmed by police, the victims reportedly are not cooperating with detectives, saying only that "revenge is theirs."
Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call 774-4050 or emergency 911.
