JINGLE JOG RUN

Thirty-two runners showed up at the National Park dock road in Red Hook at 7:30 a.m. Sunday to compete in the St Thomas Association of Roadrunners’ Jingle Jog run.
To make the event more festive, bells were provided for the runners’ shoes. A couple of runners came wearing Santa hats.
The three mile run consisted of six laps of the flat and partially shady dock road. The first place finisher was Elvan Yabba Nisbet of St. John in a time of 20:31. He was followed by Robert Kelly at 21:02, and Gar Watson 21:11.
The first woman was Claire Ochoa with a time of 20:53. Grace Tuma came in after Ochoa in 22:08. The third woman was Simone Francis in 23:08.
Three children ran the three mile course. Johnny Lenahan in 35:32, Harry Lenahan in 40:46, and Ali Parzak in 42:46.
Two year old Megan Greaux was wheeled in her stroller by her mother Annie Greaux who came in at 34:34.
The next STAR event is the Martin Luther King run on January 17th. Check
