SHIPS SCHEDULES CHANGE

After Hurricane Lenny blew through the Eastern Caribbean last month, cruise ships scrambled to rearrange their schedules due to damages to some destinations.
They are starting to return to normal, according to a release from the West Indian Co. Ltd. Tuesday.
Two of the ships that were diverted from the hurricane ravaged St. Maarten, the Century and the Grand Princess, will be returning this week to that island.
The Nordic Empress that was rescheduled to call on St. Thomas on Sundays after Lenny will return to its normal Saturday call starting this Saturday, Dec. 11.
The Seabourn Sun will make an unscheduled call on St. Thomas Wednesday and will continue on to St. Croix at 12 midnight for an unscheduled call on St. Croix.
Later in the month the Seabourn Pride will arrive on St. Thomas on Dec. 22 instead of Dec. 23, and the Seabourn Legend that was slated to be at the inner anchorage will instead be at the WICO dock.
On Dec. 23 the Radisson Diamond will make an unscheduled call on St. Thomas, arriving from Curacao at 8 a.m. and departing for San Juan at 5 p.m.
On Dec 29 the Majesty of the Seas will call on St. Thomas. This is changed from the original schedule of Jan. 2. When it leaves here the Majesty of the Seas will continue on to St. Maarten.
WICO spokesman Calvin Wheatley couldn't say why the Majesty had changed its schedule.
"Maybe they want to be out to sea on the New Year. It's romantic," Wheatley conjectured.
