The countdown has begun to the Sinbad Soul Music Festival to be held May 26-31 in St. Thomas.
Government officials have met again with representatives of Sinbad Productions to review the remaining details and again, Gov. Charles W. Turnbull has charged all agencies and department heads to do everything possible to ensure the success of the event.
Turnbull assured Phil Fisher, logistics manager for Sinbad Productions, that he would have the full cooperation of the government in completing a punch list of items, including site preparation, traffic control, debris removal and mass transportation.
Traffic and parking communiqués will be issued by the Police Department shortly, according to the release from Government House.
Hotel rooms are still available on St. Thomas and St. John, according to a report in the Daily News. Meanwhile, a stateside media campaign is in its final days.
