SEN. BRYAN FORWARDS RESUME FOR TOURISM POST

On May 17, the day before Attorney General Iver Stridiron was to present the results of his investigation into sexual-harassment allegations against acting Tourism Commissioner Clement "Cain" Magras, someone else was recommended for the position.
Senator Adelbert M. "Bert" Bryan forwarded the resume of Jacqueline de Chabert to Government House. In his covering letter, Bryan said, "In as much as Ms. de Chabert is planning to return home, you may wish to contact her and make an offer, to fill the cabinet position of commissioner of Tourism."
De Chabert has a doctorate in Hospitality and Tourism Management and is presently an assistant professor at Florida State University. Her experience outside the academic area includes management positions in the service industry in both U. S. Army Clubs and Walt Disney World.
In her letter to Bryan, Ms. de Chabert notes, "Markets competing for tourism dollars must not only promote and offer the products that tourists desire, such as the beauty, culture and history of our islands, but also great service experiences."
Gov. Charles W. Turnbull put the Magras nomination on hold for 30 days last month while the AG was investigating the allegations against Magras.
