CARNIVAL? NO, BACCHANAL

The "Mighty Whitey," Cruzan rum, calypso in the air. Of course – it's St. Thomas carnival.
Nope. It's Key West this weekend where the 4th annual St. Thomas Bacchanal will be taking place, sponsored largely and not surprisingly, by Cruzan Rum.
More than three hundred St. Thomians, current residents and ex-pats, are signed up to attend the event according to the Bacchanal's organizer, Jane Hoffman. "They're coming out of the woodwork right now," Jane said, noting that "in typical West Indian fashion, people are waiting until the last minute."
Starting off Friday night, with Nicky Russell, the "Mighty Whitey," presiding, the event will continue though Sunday morning with the big jam on Saturday night at popular Key West night spot Kelly's Caribbean Bar.
A full report of the festivities, the real who's who, along with pictures, will be on the Source next weekend from our Key West correspondent.
