SINBAD SHIFTS LOCALE TO LIONEL ROBERTS

Sinbad is shifting the locale of his Soul Music Festival in late May from the Crown Bay area to Lionel Roberts Stadium.
Manny Centeno, who is coordinating the Tourism Department's end of the deal, said the change was prompted by infrastructure problems at Crown Bay.
But others said the problems involved money, or the Tourism Department's lack of it, to prepare the Crown Bay site for mass numbers of concert-goers.
Lionel Roberts can hold 10,000 people and will need little work to prepare it, other than cleaning it up after Carnival in late April.
Centeno said no parking will be allowed around the stadium during the Sinbad festival May 26-31, but shuttle buses will be provided.
Information about the beach jams and comedy show should be announced Monday.
The festival is expected to draw 8,000 visitors to St. Thomas and pump millions of dollars into the V.I. economy.
