Roberto Benigni, who recently won the Academy Award for Best Actor, wrote, directed and performed in ‘LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL,' playing at Cinema One beginning Thursday, March 25. The critically acclaimed film tells the story of a man who attempts to keep hope alive for his son in a Nazi concentration camp, by calling on the power of laughter.
The film was the first ever to be nominated for an Academy Award as both Best Foreign Language Film and Best Film. In won in the foreign language category. It was nominated for seven awards and won three — the last one for Best Dramatic Score.
