GOODWIN WANTS ROOFING ACCOUNT RECONCILED

Sen. George Goodwin has urged the acting Finance commissioner to reconcile the Home Protection Roofing Program account by the April 30 deadline.
"I was notified by a senior staff employee of the HPRP program that if moneys in the HPRP fund (are) not used by April 30, 1999, the funds in that account will be returned to the federal government," Goodwin wrote Bernice Turnbull.
Goodwin noted that more than 100 people are still waiting to have roofs built under the program, but they are on hold until the account is reconciled.
