Got an apartment or guesthouse you'd like to rent for the four-day Sinbad Soul Music Festival over the Memorial Day weekend? The St. Thomas-St. John Hotel and Tourism Association wants to hear from you.
All of the island's 4,000 hotel rooms are already booked for the weekend, including 400 complimentary rooms and 1,200 to be sold as part of travel packages. So Beverly Nicholson, executive director of the hotel group, is seeking private rentals — apartments, homes or condos — to be put into a bank of approved accommodations.
These homes will be inspected and guests will have to stay at least five nights and put up a $500 security deposit.

Meanwhile, news about the festival itself: Singer Chaka Kahn, jazz musician Roy Ayers and the Stylistics, a '70s group, will be among the featured acts, the Daily News reported Wednesday.
