STUDENT AT WESLEYAN WINS SPELLING BEE

Lindelle Davis, seventh-grader at Wesleyan Academy advanced to the territory finals by winning the St. Thomas-St. John District Spelling Bee on Friday.
Davis won against 22 other students who competed in the event. Four other winners, announced Friday, will also compete in the territory-wide finals, according to the Independent.
They are:
— Zaheer Mohammed of All Saints Cathedral School.
— Shenelle Francis of Lockhart Elementary School.
— Sekoia Rogers of E. Benjamin Oliver Elementary School.
— Brian Thomas of Edith Williams Elementary School.
The top winner in the Virgin Islands will go on to compete nationally in the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee, to be held in early June.
