LT. GOV. APPOINTS TWO MORE STAFFERS

Lt. Gov. Gerard Luz James II has announced two more staff appointments: Michael Burton to be public information officer and Averly A. Sullivan-O'Neal as director of administration and management.
James also confirmed that attorney Maryleen Thomas will replace Gwendolyn Brady as director of banking and insurance. Previous reports had said Thomas would be James' general counsel, a role that Deverita C. Sturdivant will fill.
Sullivan-O'Neal was a financial manager at the V.I. Internal Revenue Bureau and the V.I. Territorial Emergency Management Agency. She will oversee financial and personnel affairs of the Lieutenant Governor's Office.
Burton was a reporter for the V.I. Independent and a public relations consultant.
