Staff members of the Juan F. Luis Hospital will have the chance to ask questions of St. Croix Senate hopefuls at the Wednesday afternoon event.

 We are witnessing the potential collapse of our social, political, and economic systems in the US Virgin Islands, and we are now facing a crossroads in our history. Today’s choices will greatly affect tomorrow’s future.

 I submit this to you as an example of what can be done only by an independent. Democrats and Republicans can’t give credit to ideas from the opposing parties, while ideas from independents are acceptable to all parties.

 My platform as a candidate for the November 2012 election to the VI Board of Education (BOE) is to develop an action plan adhering to the BOE’s Policies & Procedures for accomplishing the following goals: (1) evoke creativity in teachers and students; (2) enhance students love & appreciation of all subject areas through participative, active, & hand’s-on learning; and, (3) to successfully transition students from school into the adult world.

 I believe public officials have a moral obligation to live and uphold a level of high standard in the community. However, I also understand that public officials are human and from time to time, they can or may make mistakes in their personal life just like anyone else. In such situations, I believe they must be forthright and honest with the public.

 The Green Party Of The United States Virgin Islands is new to the territory but what it stands for is precisely what the territory is in need. It offers a system of representation that is conflict free of special interests, drawing a line separating money from politics and endeavors to a form of government whose sole function is to selflessly serve.

 We are all aware of the problems that are affecting our economy, our communities and our youth. We must face REALITY! The current state of Reality here in our Virgin Islands is that our foundation is in disrepair it is time to REBUILD and STRENGTHEN our infrastructure.

 We can no longer afford to turn a blind eye to the root causes of our suffering.  We can no longer afford to keep doing business as usual.  We deserve public servants who have a vision, and the leadership skills to see that vision come to life and get us through this difficult time.  

 Over the last 16 years I have served as your Delegate to Congress from the U.S. Virgin Islands and have responded to your needs for improved health care, a diverse economy with more job and career opportunities, the development of our roads and transportation system, public safety, housing, and infrastructure development.
