The St. Croix Federation of Teachers is offering five $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who are the children of AFT members.

Here's what is happening on both campuses of the University of the Virgin Islands.

The University of the Virgin Islands celebrates the 48th anniversary of its founding during the month of March, which is recognized as Charter Month. UVI will conduct a Charter Day ceremony, present a lecture as part of the Alfred O. Heath Distinguished Lecture Series, and hold a 5K Walk/Run on St. Croix.  

The University of the Virgin Islands Board of Trustees will meet at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, in the Administration and Conference Center on UVI’s St. Thomas campus.

The Masters in Marine and Environmental Science (MMES) program at the University of the Virgin Islands provides students with the training and skills necessary for planning, conducting and evaluating research in marine and environmental science.

The human resource function is a vital contributor to the success of any organization. Individuals new to the profession or recently promoted professionals can now benefit from a workshop that covers virtually every aspect of human resources management. 

The University of the Virgin Islands – Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (UVICELL) Center will be offering a workshop for business professionals who wish to improve their writing skills.

UVI has announced the arrival of two new faculty members with expertise in natural resource management. They will be teaching courses in the Division of Science and Mathematics (DSM), and in the Master’s of Marine and Environmental Science (MMES) Program.

Two district principals have been selected to serve as judges for the National School Change Awards sponsored by the National Principals Leadership Institute and the American Association of School Administrators

Dr. Raul Cano, director of the Environmental Biotechnology Institute at California Polytechnic State University, will discuss his work on environmental and biotechnology related research.
