 Due to the increased success of the National Park Service’s (NPS) public lectures about Buck Island Reef National Monument on the second Thursday of each month, NPR will expand its topics to cover issues relevant to all three parks on St. Croix.

 The National Park Service (NPS) will hold a public meeting to explain to the public the research program that it will begin this year in the Bioluminescent Bay, Triton Bay, Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve.

 The National Park Service will close the Visitors’ Contact Center above the Columbus Landing Site during Christmas Week, Dec. 21 through Jan. 1, due to staff shortage.

 In celebration of Buck Island Reef’s 50th anniversary year as a National Monument, the National Park Service (NPS) continues its public lectures about Buck Island Reef National Monument on every second Thursday of each month.

 As a result of the recent rains throughout the territory, the Division of Environmental Protection (DEP) anticipates negative environmental impacts caused by storm-water runoff.

The National Park Service (NPS) reopens its Salt River Bay Visitor Contact Center above Columbus Landing next Wednesday, Nov. 14. “Artifacts of St. Croix’s Past” celebrates Folmer Andersen’s archaeological collection from St. Croix, one of the largest in the Caribbean. The exhibit presents a series of photographs of artifacts in the collection produced by David Berg and Sarene Brumant. Dr. Josh Torres, NPS-Cultural Resource Program manager, has written descriptions explaining the meaning and context of the artifacts represented. The exhibit will be open Monday-Friday 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. until June, except for holidays.
