The St. Croix Landmarks Society will launch its 2010 House Tours on Feb. 10 with the first of three tours.  Since 1954, St. Croix homeowners have graciously shared their homes, furnishings and gardens with residents and visitors to raise funds for Landmarks. 

Virgin Island National Park has announced the first recipients of the Safety Recognition Awards, who were chosen by peers and supervisors for acts proving their dedication to safety for others.

All five weather stations of a system called VI Mesonet were completed on Dec. 15 with the mounting of sensors at Sandy Point, St. Croix, and Savannah Cay.

The captain and crew of World Ocean School’s schooner, Roseway, has wrapped up its Summer Ambassador Program, which this year hosted students from St. Thomas for a 26-day expedition beginning in Boston, covering six ports in Nova Scotia, Canada, and ending in Portland, Maine.

World Food Day activities will be held on the grounds of the St. Croix campus of the University of the Virgin Islands on Sunday, Oct. 18. This year’s theme is: “Global Food Crisis: Opportunities, Responsibilities and Solutions.”

The Crucian Christmas Festival Inc. is accepting theme entries for the upcoming festival. The deadline is Sept. 18.
