 For the second consecutive year St. Croix Junior University (JU) will hold summer enrichment classes for seventh grade male students at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) campus. Prospective students along with their parents are urged to attend a mandatory orientation at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 21, at UVI’s Great Hall.

 The St. Croix Parent University family in particular and the school district in general are expressing heartfelt condolences on the passing of Beryl Donovan, a mainstay at the university and a beloved employee of the Department of Education.

 The family of Shirley Eleanor Steele is saddened to announce her death on June 15.

 Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands (CFVI) launched an initiative to strengthen the non-profit sector in the U.S. Virgin Islands in 2004 by creating a "Directory of Community Organizations Serving the Virgin Islands" and is now preparing to publish an updated 2013-15 edition.

 Here's what is happening on both campuses of the University of the Virgin Islands.

 The Virgin Islands National Guard (VING) will be conducting an island-wide all-hazards training exercise on St. Croix from June 21-23.

 The St. Croix Environmental Association is offering a free Snorkel Clinic. It will be held on Saturday, July 13, at Hotel on the Cay.

 Trevor Byron, also known as "Bumpy” or “Trini," of Estate Peter's Rest died on June 6, in Houston, Texas. He was 55 years old.

 Ham radio operators across the territory will team up with Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA) on June 22 -23 to show off their emergency capabilities during the 2013 Field Day, an annual event sponsored by American Relay Radio League (ARRL) (the national association for Amateur Radio) and conducted by the V.I. Amateur Radio Club.
