Over the last 100 years, St. Croix has continued to develop as a community with a complex heritage and identity. These years have been preoccupied with such important tasks as growing a strong economy and caring for the needs of the citizens. Perhaps, the community has buried too deeply the Virgin Islands’ roots of freedom during this time. Crucian Heritage and Nature Tourism Inc. (CHANT) invites the community to gather and remember the roots of its liberation and tell its own stories. The Community Story Circle will feature storytelling by two community treasures, Asta Williams and Mama Asheba.
