By Source staff — July 4, 2010
Police on St. Croix are investigating the death of an individual who was found inside a burned vehicle Saturday. The vehicle with the body inside was discovered at about 8 p.m. near the Ralph de Chabert housing community.

Police were called to a report of shots being discharged in the area and a report of a vehicle on fire. When officer arrived at the scene they observed the SUV engulfed in flames and the victim inside.

Police are still trying to determine if the shots that were heard were the result of the fire exploding combustibles in the vehicle. The exact cause of death of the victim will be determined by the medical examiner.

Anyone who lived near the Ralph de chabert housing, please give us some info on this or anyone anywhere that knows something.....we have to come together and stop this nonsense.

Chito, who was a "very loved man throughout all the islands," as you put it, was also a convicted felon and into numerous other illegal activities as well. It is doubtless that these illegal activites are the direct cause of his death.
I think that we, as Virgin Islanders, should take a step back and see who it is that is being killed, and ask why. Why is it that the young men, and a few not-so-young men, in this Territory are the ones being killed? The answer is that their blatant and selfish disregard of our laws and rejection of basic moral values has led them to a life of crime, which brings forth, more often than not, a death at the hands of crime. It is time for the parents of the Virgin Islands to step forward and hold their children accountable for their actions and stem this tide of blood that has washed over this Territory.

In life nobody's perfect. He his gone and we just want info on his death.....and we will find it someway. Bad and Good people get killed all the time, if these kids are not being taught and are continuing to go against the grain then theres consequences to be paid. But the murders must stop, its getting worse. thank you for your comment.
