Police Investigate Reckless Endangerment Report

The V.I. Police Department is investigating a report of first-degree reckless endangerment that occurred when gunshots were heard shortly before midnight Wednesday.

Officers responded to a 911 call reporting gunshots fired in Estate Glynn at the V.I. Water and Power Authority garage. The security guard on duty told them that at roughly 11:08 p.m., an unknown individual operating a scooter had been seen discharging gunfire onto the property.

The guard said he concealed himself to avoid being seen by the shooter. As another shot rang out, the guard said, the operator of the scooter drove off in an easterly direction.

The security guard was unable to provide officers with a description of the scooter or the shooter, but was able to direct officers to the two vehicles that had been struck by gunfire.

The matter is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
