Date of death – Jan. 16

At 5:07 p.m., dispatchers relayed to police a report of shots fired near 37F Estate Whim. Witnesses reported hearing several shots. Officers arrived to find a Hispanic man, later identified as 29 year-old Jose Miguel Rosa, a resident of Marley Homes, on the ground with gunshot wounds.

At 1:38 a.m. Sunday, police were called to Ulke Gade by 911 dispatchers, who had received a call of shots fired and a man man down. The officers found 38-year-old Jason Young of Hodges’ Street, who had been shot several times.

A report of a residential fire was called into the 911 emergency center at 8 a.m. The V.I. Fire Service arrived on the scene and suppressed the fire. Afterwards, officials found the body of 54-year-old Merle Nattaa in the kitchen area. Police determined from injuries to her body that Nattaa had been the victim of a homicide.

Police were called to the scene of reported shots fired and a man down at about 6:15 p.m. When officers arrived they found 21-year-old Ezekiah Joseph, unresponsive, near building 21 of the Tutu High Rise apartments. Joseph was pronounced dead on the scene.

At roughly 8:44 p.m. the body of a man was found in Smith Bay. Officers, responding to a call of a possible shooting at Coki Point Beach, discovered the body of a black man, who had been shot several times, near Calley’s Place and Dushi by the Sea. The victim was identified as Anthony Charles, a resident of Estate Tutu.

At 2:30 p.m. Sunday officers, responding to a call of shots being fired in the vicinity of the Lionel Roberts Stadium in Hospital Ground, found the body of a Lakeel Wade bleeding from wounds to his head. He had also sustained a broken leg, and was transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center Hospital, where he died the following morning.

At 11:46 a.m. the 911 emergency call center received a report of shots fired in the Estate Grove Place area near the Eulalie Rivera Elementary School. Responding officers found the body of 37-year-old Mustafa Williams, of No. 15C Grove Place. The victim had been shot several times. He was delcated dead by emergency medical technicians at the scene.

At 6:42 a.m. officers were told a man’s body was lying inside a vehicle in the area of Building 10 Tutu High Rise. At the scene, officers found the body of an unresponsive black man, later identified as 20-year-old Leroy Rawlins, who appeared to have sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was a resident of the housing community.

The 911 center received a call at 8:27 p.m. Feb. 15 reporting shots fired in the Concordia area of Frederiksted. Dispatchers told the units to examine the area surrounding the Alexander Henderson Elementary School but found nothing. On Feb. 16, the body later identified as 18-year-old Tahjil Harrigan of Christiansted.

An unidentified man was shot in the Anna’s Retreat area and died at the Schneider Regional Medical Center. The fatal shooting took place shortly after 9 a.m. The victim was shot approximately five times and later died of his injures at the SRMC. The victim had no identification, and as of Sunday night no next of kin had come forward to identify or claim the body.

At 10 a.m. VIPD officers responded to a call of an assault victim at in the vicinity of Mahogany Estate. Upon arrival to the scene, officers discovered the unresponsive body of a man, later identified as Alvin Gomez, who had sustained a stab wound to the back. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Chandra Gomez, the victim’s daughter, was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with second-degree homicide, domestic violence.

Egbert Thomas Jr., 79, of Anna’s Hope, was in the Christiansted Public Cemetery visiting the grave of his wife, and was assaulted at about 9:30 a.m. by an individual, later identified as Major Lee Womack, a homeless man that was squatting in one of structures.Witness told 911dispatchers of an individual striking someone with an object in the cemetery. Officers arriving on the scene approached the subject, and he began to hurl rocks and other items at them. The police eventually were able to subdue, restrain and arrest the suspect. Thomas sustained multiple lacerations to the head, the chest and the forearm, and appeared to have succumbed to his injuries at the cemetery.

A man died of a gunshot wound he received at about 2:11 a.m. at the Super Tanker Service Station in Sunny Isles. Investigation showed that 55-year-old Terrance Moorehead pulled into the station, bought an item in the convenience store, then returned to his vehicle. At some point he got out of his vehicle and went around to the north side of the station property, where he was shot. He was transported by ambulance to the Juan F, Luis Memorial Hospital, where he died.

Shane Heyliger, a 34-year-old resident of Altona and Welgunst, was killed in a daylight shooting on Veterans Drive. The incident took place about 9:38 a.m. in the vicinity of the Charlotte Amalie waterfront area. Witnesses described hearing five or six shots. Officers arriving at the scene found the unresponsive body of a many identified as Heyliger.

At about 3:30 p.m. May 4, VIPD officers discovered the bodies of a man, approximately 73 years old, and his spouse, approximately 67, in a vacation rental in Sapphire Bay. The names of the victims were not immediately released, pending notification of next of kin. According to police, both of the victims, who were visiting St. Thomas from the mainland, were stabbed repeatedly. Police believe the deaths occurred either May 1 or 2.

Tishawn VanHolten, 22 year-old,was found shot to death aty 9:30 p.m. May 4 in the roadway parallel to Holy Family Catholic Church in Estate Anna’s Retreat. Police responding to a 911 report of shots being fired discovered the body.

At about 2:46 a.m., police responding to the Christiansted Boardwalk in response to multiple calls of gunshots and requests for ambulances found the lifeless body of Blaine Gerard, 26 of Estate Mon Bijou. At the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital, officers found four people bring treated for gunshot wounds.

Police officers responding to a call of a disturbance at about 11:12 p.m. in the area of Kongens Gade in downtown Cruz Bay found the body of 25-year-old Kenson Jolly of Pastory. Officers arriving at the scene found Jolly slumped over in apatio chair. When he failed to respond to verbal inquiries they looked closer and found he had received several gunshot wounds to the body.

Roy Henry Jr., known by the nickname "Uncle Roy," was shot and killed at a nightclub in Estate Princess. 911 dispatchers received a report of a homicide at 3:26 a.m. at an Estate Princess nightclub. Officers and detectives arriving at the scene found a man, later identified as Henry, lying in the parking lot. Emergency medical technicians responded to the scene and examined him for vital signs and found no signs of life. Witnesses told police that Henry had walked out of the nightclub into the parking lot area when unknown individuals began shooting at him.

Police officers responding to a call of shots fired at about 6:42 p.m. on Centerline Road in the vicinity of Estates St. George and Diamond found a white-colored Honda Civic with a bullet hole in the passenger side window. The car had struck a tree and come to a halt west of Bellows International. The driver, identified as Edwards, was unresponsive, according to the police report. Emergency medical technicians arrived and but found no vital signs in the victim, who was identified as Dave Edwards of Estate Whim.

Officers responding to a report of a homicide in Sugar Estate at about 2:40 a.m. were met by the owner of a nearby residence who told them he had heard gunfire towards the rear of his home. When he opened the door to see what had happened, a man unknown to him, ran into his home and collapsed. Officers searched the residence and found an unresponsive Hispanic male, later identified as 48-year-old Victor Colon, who appeared to have succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

Dennard Lawrence, 25, was shot and killed at 12:24 p.m. on the road adjacent to the University of the Virgin Islands Administrative Conference Center in Brewer’s Bay. Witnesses informed police that Lawrence had just disembarked from a safari bus and began to walk up the hill, making his way towards the beach when the sound of multiple gunshots were heard. Lawrence was listed as having been Dead On Arrival at the time police reached the scene.

Police responding to a shots-fired call in Estate Whim found the body of a man. According to the report, a man and woman had gone to the daycare center to retrieve their young child. While the woman went into the facility to retrieve the child, the man sat outside in their vehicle. An unknown male suspect drove up to the vehicle and shot him with a high-powered weapon, then fled the scene, leaving the man lifeless in the SUV. The killing touched off a spate of shooting across St. Croix.

A man identified as 56-year-old Ellmeade Daniel Sr. was found dead shortly after 1 a.m. Sept. 22 in the area of Estate Nadir known as "Sanchez Town." According to witnesses, Daniel was approached by a suspect identified by police as Mario Brown and the two began arguing. As the exchange escalated, Brown picked up a rock and struck Daniel in the head, the police reported.

Allie Benjamin, 28, was walking through the area of the D. Hamilton Jackson Housing Community shortly after 5 p.m. Sept. 28 when shots rang out. Witnesses said Benjamin began running, then fell to the ground. Emergency medical technicians began to treat him for a gunshot to the body at the scene, then transported him to the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital emergency room, where he died as a result of the injury.

At 5:51 a.m. the 911 emergency center notified officers of a man down. The caller who made the report also indicated that moments before the body was discovered, several shots were fired in the vicinity. Officers and an ambulance responding to the scene found a middle aged black man lying along the roadside just off of the Queen Mary Highway (Centerline Road) with gunshot wounds to his body. The man appeared to be lifeless, police said. The emergency medical technicians examined the individual and found no signs of life.

A VIPD detective was walking in the area of John Brewers Bay Beach shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday was flagged-down by a passing motorist. The motorist asked if she’d seen the body of a male lying in the area of the former dump site, to which she replied “No.” At the same time, she saw another officer driving by. She stopped the officer, and relayed what she’d been told by the motorist, and the two traveled to the former dump site.There they discovered the motionless body of a Hispanic male, whose age was estimated as between his late 20s and early 30s. He had been shot multiple times and the two officers notified central dispatch of their findings. Police found no identification on the body, which was transported to the morgue at the Schneider Regional Medical Center.

August Bannis, 73, died of injuries he sustained when he3 was attacked Aug. 18 at D. Hamilton Jackson Park. Bannis, an elder at Calvary Baptist Church in Upper Love, never regained conciousness after the attack and succumbed to his injuries two months later at a Miami hospital where he was undergoing care.

At 10:02 p.m. Friday, the body of a man was found in Ha’ Penny Beach on St. Croix. Officers, responding to a call of gunfire in the area arrived at the scene and discovered the body of a young black male lying slightly off the beach. The victim appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was later identified as 20-year-old

Kimoy Lynch.

At 3:59 a.m., two men were shot in the parking lot of a nightclub in Estate Peter’s Rest, police reported. The club had been the scene of a peaceful musical event earlier in the evening, the police said. 25-year-old Shadon Beazer of Harborview Aparments, died on the scene from injuries sustained in the shooting. A second man was hit in the thigh by a bullet and transported to the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital for treatment.

A woman, not immediately identified by police, was speaking with two men outside a club on Kronprindsens Gade when a grey Jeep drove up to them and began firing shots in their direction. The two men ran and the woman was shot where she stood. According to police, she died on the scene of multiple gunshot wounds. One of the men was taken to Schneider Regional Medical Center for gunshot injuries.

Elvis Davis, of no fixed address, was shot and killed in broad daylight Monday in the Market Place in Frederiksted, the V.I. Police Department reported. According to the , at 1:30 p.m., 911 emergency dispatchers notified officers of a "man down" in the Market place. Call Center of a man down in the Market Place. Officers and an ambulance were dispatched to the area, where Davis was found lying in the Market with multiple gunshot wounds about the body. He showed no signs of life, and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crime.

Kemoi Thompson, a 24-year-old resident of Hospital Ground, was shot to death Sunday morning in the area of Bargain Grocery, formerly the Lima Grocery Store, and Such Is Life Bar, on Goat Street in Hospital Ground. At 8:41 a.m. Sunday, the 911 emergency call center received a report of gunfire in the area. Outside of the bar, adjacent to the grocery store, responding officers found a man identified as Thompson bleeding profusely, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He succumbed to his injuries at the Schneider Regional Medical Center.

Police and Fire Services units responding to a report of gunshots and a house fire Monday night found the badly burned bodies of two people in the structure. Officers dispatched to the scene found the residence ablaze. The Virgin Islands Fire Service arrived and extinguished the fire. Upon examining the home, officers and firefighters discovered the bodies of two people, burned beyond recognition. The names of the victims were withheld by police pending an autopsy and notification of next of kin.

A woman who called 911 to report shots told responding officers a male companion had come to her residence for a meal earlier that evening. As he was walking towards his vehicle at about 10 p.m. she heard gunfire and saw two men running into the bushes, west of Estate Williams Delight. Officers searched for the man but were unable to locate him. They did discover several spent shell-casings in the area. At 6:33 a.m., the 911 emergency call center received a call from a concerned citizen saying the body of a man had been found in Estate Williams Delight. Responding officers discovered the body of a deceased man who appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds. They found shell casings found around his body. The body of the dead man matched the description of the woman’s male companion. Police later identified him as Erikson Hansen.

The body of an unidentified person was found in a burning vehicle in Estate Betty’s Hope after police received reports of shots being fired in the vicinity. Responding officers found the pickup truck fully ablaze. V.I. Fire Services put out the blaze, at which time the body was discovered. Police said the identity would be released after an autopsy.

Kadeem Hohn, a resident of the Contant Knolls Housing Community, was gunned down at 11:45 p.m. Police responding to a report of gunfire found Hohn’s unresponsive body in the vicinity of the Community Center. Emergency medical technicians found no visible vital signs as the victim appeared to have sustained a single gunshot wound to the upper torso.

Police officers responding to a report of ginfire in Estate Concordia in the vicinity of the Queen Louise Home for Children found the unresponsive body of 25-year-old Akeem Batiste. Preliminary information indicated the victim had been involved in a dispute with 47-year-old Bruno Montute that escalated to the point of Montute shooting Batiste several times.
