Man Robbed and Shot in Leg


A man was shot in the leg and robbed just before 10 p.m. Wednesday in the Mutual Homes Apartments.

According to the initial police report, the 62-year-old victim exited his vehicle in the apartment complex and walked to the stairs of his building. A man approached him and demanded money, according to police. The victim, whose name was not released by police, attempted to enter his apartment but was shot in the left calk by the suspect, according to police.

The victim told police he threw a green pouch containing cash toward the suspect, who immediately fled the area.

The victim said the bag contained cash, coins and jewelry.

This case is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Bureau. Anyone with information can call the 911 emergency dispatch center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stopper VI, at 1-800-222-8477.
