Man Wounded, Car Shot in Estate Glen

A man was wounded by gunfire early Monday and a car was fired on. Both incidents were reported in Estate Glen, and though they were reported separately, the V.I. Police Department is investigating to determine if the incidents are related.

According to the police report, just before 2 a.m. Monday a man reported to officers at Zone A in Christiansted that an unknown person or persons fired at his Jeep Wrangler while he was in the Estate Glenn area.

At about 2:15 a.m., 911 Emergency Dispatch notified police that a man, who was the victim of a gunshot wound to his leg, walked into the Gov. Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital for treatment. The victim told police he was in the Estate Glen area when someone starting firing a gun and he was hit in his leg. He said he was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.

Police did not release the name of either the shooting victim or the owner of the damaged Jeep.
