Lone Gunman Robs Pizza Hut

A lone gunman entered the Pizza Hut Restaurant in the Ville La Reine Shopping Center shortly before noon Wednesday and demanded money. No one was hurt during the robbery, according to the V.I. Police Department.

Police were dispatched to the scene at about 11:45 a.m. Wednesday. Witnesses told the officers that a man armed with a handgun came into the restaurant and demanded money from the safe. The suspect also took cash from the register. After receiving an undetermined amount of cash the suspect left the building. There were at least two employees in the restaurant. They told police they did not see in which direction the suspect fled.

The suspect was described as a slim man with a light complexion wearing a black shirt and jeans. The suspect’s face was covered with a fabric and only his eyes, nose and mouth were exposed.

Police said other witnesses in the area said the suspect fled in a green Chevy Cavalier. Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives and Forensic technicians processed the scene and collected evidence.

Police ask anyone in the community who has information on the case to call detectives at 712-6037 or 712-6077, or to call the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-TIPS.
