Traffic Accident Leaves One Man Dead

Troy Leo of Estate Profit Hill died early Monday in a one-car traffic accident on Melvin Evans Highway near Route 669 in Estate Golden Grove.

According to a Police Department press release issued Tuesday, Leo was the sole occupant of a 2007 blue four-door Nissan Sentra that was traveling east on Melvin Evans Highway. The vehicle swerved onto the highway’s left shoulder, hit the guard rail on the north side and then crashed into the concrete divider, police said.

When police officers arrived at the scene, Leo was unresponsive. He was removed from the scene by medical personnel and later pronounced dead at around 3:30 a.m. at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital.

The investigation into this accident is still ongoing.
