St. Thomas Police are investigating the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Shakir Richardson of Estate Tutu. Police were alerted to the shooting victim at about 2:25 a.m. Thursday through a 911 emergency dispatch call reporting a man down in Estate Anna’s Retreat near the Joseph Gomez Elementary School.

Police on St. Croix are investigating a fatal shooting of a man in his mid 20s at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6., in the Mutual Homes housing community in Estate Grove Place. When police arrived on the scene they saw the wounded victim: Karisha Ramkissoon, age 27, lying on the ground. Officers administered CPR, and when emergency medical technicians arrived shortly after they attended to the victim. However the man was unresponsive and died, according to medical personnel.

Rashaile Ja, a 29-year-old resident of Estate Smith Bay, was shot to death Thursday. According to the police report, officers responded at about 11 a.m. to a call of shots fired in Estate Smith Bay. Arriving moments later they were told that a victim was being driven to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center. At the hospital they learned that Ja had been shot multiple times. He later died of his injuries.

Police were notified at about 9:30 p.m. of shots fired on Garden Street. When officers arrived on the scene and inspected the area they saw the victim, later identified as 28-year-old Keith Andrews, lying unresponsive in the public street. He was taken to the Roy L. Schneider Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead by medical staff.

Police officers dispatched by 911 operators to Palm Gardens Apartments at about 10:30 p.m. found a shooting victim, later identified as Tim Metzger. Preliminary investigation indicated he had been in the apartment complex parking lot when he was shot by an unknown suspect or suspects. Police have not released the name or age of the victim pending notification of his next of kin.

Omaya Leftewe, 29, was driving a vehicle west to east on Queen Mary Highway near Estate Castle Burke when another vehicle with at least one passenger inside pulled alongside his car and shot at it, according to police. Leftewe was alone in his vehicle at the time. Leftewe attempted to evade the shooter and turned left on to East Airport road where he crashed into a fence. Police and emergency medical technicians arrived at the scene and transported him to the Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

The body of 16-year-old Jamal Richardson was discovered Monday in Estate Two Brothers in Frederiksted. Police reported Monday evening that the boy was reported as a runaway early in January. According to police the body had signs of “obvious trauma.”

Police responding to reports of shots fired in Frederiksted arrived at the scene on Hospital Street and found 30-year-old Jahmalie Allick of Frederiksted dead from at least one gunshot wound to the upper body. Two other men were treated at the Juan F. Luis Hospital for non-life-threatening gunshot injuries. Police believe other suspects fled the scene moments before their arrival, possibly in a vehicle.

Leroy Brooks, a 29-year-old man from Estate Campo Rico, was shot and killed at 4 a.m. Saturday following an altercation at the Frontline Night Club in Estate Glynn. Another man was wounded. The police said it is possible the two victims were shooting at each other, causing one’s death and wounding the other. Two firearms were found at the scene.

Munif Awawda, 33, was shot to death and another injured Thursday morning during a robbery at the Two Brothers Meat Market in Frederiksted, and police charged two men, N’Kosi Parris and Mario Daniels Jr., with first-degree murder in connection with the death of the store owner.

Sean O’Connell, a 54-year-old director of operations for a St. Thomas construction management company, was shot and killed Friday night in the Mandahl Bay area, V.I. police reported Saturday, April 2. At approximately 9:56 p.m., 911 emergency operators sent officers to the Mandahl area, where callers had reported shots fired and an auto accident. Police on the scene found a pickup truck on its side in a residential neighborhood, and an unresponsive man lying next to it who had been shot. Emergency medical technicians from the Schneider Regional Medical Center determined that the man, identified as O’Connell, was dead. The pickup had visible signs of being shot at, and O’Connell had been shot at least once, police said.

At about 9:37 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 23-year-old Julio Alfredo Cruz was gunned down in Frederiksted across from the Vegetable Market on Queen Street, according to the V.I. Police Department. Police responding to the scene found Cruz, a Williams Delight resident, lying motionless in the road with multiple gunshot wounds and no vital signs. As police searched for witnesses, the crowd of residents that gathered at the scene became hostile and jeered police, which impeded the initial investigation.

Troy Gomes, 31, died April 14 due to complications that arose from a gunshot wound he received on his right leg during an attempted armed robbery of his home. Gomes was shot by a masked gunman who forcibly entered his Lerke Gade apartment on April 7. The police report said the masked man assaulted a male resident of the apartment by hitting him on his head with a hand gun. The resident told police that the suspect demanded that he give him “the drugs and the money.” The resident told police he did not know what the suspect was talking about. At that time Gomes, who also lived at the residence, arrived home and began to struggle with the suspect. Gomes then attemted to flee, but was shot by the perpetrator, who then fled.

Jamal Armstrong, a 19-year-old resident of the JFK housing community, was arrested and charged with homicide in an April 16 shooting that left one man dead. Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives arrested Armstrong, also known as “Trigger” or “Trigger Man,” after the shooting in Estate La Grande Princess took the life of 20-year-old Kyle Greenidge of Estate Work and Rest.

Delani Richards, a 20-year-old resident of the JFK housing community, was shot and killed on the dance floor of the H2O restaurant early Saturday, and detectives of the Criminal Investigation Bureau were interviewing a "person of interest." The murder occurred at about 3:45 a.m. Saturday. Police said Richards had previously been arrested on charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm in connection with a 2009 murder in which Jeffrey Browne and Luis Melendez were found guilty. Richards was sentenced to serve time in the Youth Rehabilitation Center on the firearm charge.

Wilson D. Fuentes, a 28-year-old resident of Estate Clifton Hill, was arrested Apri 28 and charged with a homicide that occurred six hours earlier. Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau on St. Croix arrested Fuentes in the the shooting death of 30-year-old Marko Antonio Rivera of Estate Profit, which occurred at about 8:45 p.m. in the vicinity of Estate Profit Hills. Police said Rivera was driving his Ford Ranger on the road near the Harvey housing community when he was shot several times in his upper body by a suspect police later identified as Fuentes. A manhunt began for the suspect after police gathered evidence at the scene and interviewed witnesses.

Jose Delacruz, an employee in the 29th Legislature’s Business Office, was shot to death early Sunday morning near the Legislative offices in Frederiksted. Four men were detained for questioning but later released by police pending further investigation. According to the Virgin Islands Police Department, the 28-year-old De La Cruz was shot multiple times and collapsed from his injuries in the parking lot across from the Frederiksted Vegetable Market. When EMTs responded to the scene they said Cruz had no vital signs. Police rceived the reports of shots fired in Frederiksted at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday. Shortly after officers arrived on the scene, another patrol unit stopped a car on the La Grange Road. The car carried four occupants who matched the description of people involved in the shooting. They were detained and questioned by detectives, however they were later released.

Minutes before 2 a.m. Friday, police responded to a vehicle fire in Estate LaGrange, Frederiksted, where they found the burned body of a man. The deceased was identified through fingerprint analysis as 28-year-old Stephen Hodge of Aureo Diaz Heights housing community. Police and fire responded to the scene immediately and found the vehicle, an older model green Chevy Rodeo, engulfed in flames. The body was not discovered until the flames were extinguished.

26-year old Troy Christian of Estate Richmond, Christiansted, was fatally shot while near the playground area of the D. Hamilton Jackson housing community in Christiansted. Police were notified of the shooting at about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday. The victim was taken to the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital for treatment but was later pronounced dead by medical staff.

The bodies of 22-year-old Rasenjoni Williams and his 18-year-old wife Amaria Remie Williams were found in shallow water and appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds about their bodies, accordng to a release from the V.I. Police Department. At about 12:30 p.m. a call came into 911 emergency communications of shots fired in the area of the Harbor View Apartments near the North Shore road. Police spoke to several residents and canvassed the neighboring area. The bodies were discovered about one hour later as police canvassed the beach area about 2,000 feet west of the apartment complex.

Police found the body of Devon Francis, a 41-year-old resident of the JFK Housing community, lying on the road of the Randolph Lockhart Elementary school in Estate Orange Grove after a citizen walked into the Ancilmo Marshal Command in Chritiansted. The body had multiple gunshot wounds. Francis was dressed in blue short pants, a white shirt and sandals. Several shell casings were found at the scene.

Police found the body of 57-year-old Calvin Dowe of Estate Thomas lying face down in the roadway with gunshots to his body. The body was found at about 4:30 a.m. in Estate Thomas near the Value Food Deli.

At about 6 a.m., police in an area known as Soto Town in Estate Contant discovered the body of a Hispanic male, possibly in his mid 40s, with multiple gunshots to his body. He was unresponsive when police arrived. Police are withholding the name pending notification of next of kin.

Tamirah Bruno, 16, was stabbed to death July 8 during a fight that broke out during Jump Up in Christiansted. Accordng to police a series of fights involving high school-aged girls broke out at the end of Jump Up around 10:45 p.m. The names of the two alleged perpetrators charged with murder have not been released by police because they are minors. They are in custody at St. Croix’s Youth Rehabilitation Center. Several other girls were treated for wounds received during the melee.

Jamal Blyden was found shot to death in Estate Tutu. The incident was initially listed as a suicide, on the word of D’Sean Thomas, 22, and Rashidi Hodge, 24 the two individuals subsequently charged with the murder.

Adran Wheatley, a 20-year-old inmate at the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility on St. Croix was stabbed to death ny another inmate, accordng to police. Police arrested 24-year-old Jahni Hamilton and charged him with first-degree murder. Police said Hamilton used a shank to fatally stab Wheatley.

Police responding to a report of shots fired in the D. Hamilton Jackson Terrace housing community in Christiansted, found a man shot at least once in his upper body. He was taken by private vehicle to the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center where he later died.

Dare of death: Aug. 7

Maho Penha, a 38-year-old Hospital Ground resident, was shot and killed in the H.H. Bergs Home housing community. The shooting occurred shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday. During the incident a 19-year-old man was grazed in the head by a bullet but he survived the shooting, police said. According to the police report, Penha was shot multiple times about the body and declated dead at the Roy Schneider Regional Medical Center.

Christopher Rice, 19, was shot to death in the Lorraine Village Apartments, the Virgin Islands Police reported. According to St. Croix Police Chief Christopher Howell, shortly after 11 p.m. the 911 emergency call center received several reports of shots fired in the vicinity of buildings five and six. When officers arrived on the scene they found the unresponsive young man lying on the ground. He was later pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Eugene Williams, assumed to be in his late 20s, was found dead of gunshot wounds Aug. 9 at the Harbor View Apartments in Estate Orange Grove. According to the V.I. POlice Department, 911 emergency dispatchers notified officers at about 6:22 a.m. that shots had been reported fired in the area. Police arrived on the scene within minutes and discovered the man’s lifeless body with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police investigating a homicide Aug 29 arrested 41-year-old Edwin Rivera, also known as "Cepi," and charged him in the shooting death of 35-year-old Carlos Juan Rosa. According to the V.I. Police Department, police received a report of shots fired in Old Fredensborg Village. When they arrived on the scene, they found Rosa unresponsive, with multiple gunshots wounds to his body.

A homeless man, Alfred Cordice, was stabbed to death Sept. 13 during an altercation at a gas station near the Sunny Isles Shopping Center. Police arrested another homeless man, Lewis "The Runner" Clifton, and charged im with hmicide.

Isaac Austri, a 27-year-old St. Thomian wanted in an August murder in Hospital Ground, died at Schneider Regional Medical Center from wounds received in a shootout with police. According to the Virgin Islands Police Department, officers converged on a building where Austrie had been reported. Austrie opened fire on the officers who fired back, wounding him. He was taken to the hospital where he died the folowing day.

Troy Weiss, 50, was stabbed to death while walking home after leaving a Cane Bay Bar between 8-8:30 p.m.

On Jan. 21, 2013, detectives on St. John said human skeletal remains found on St. John in August of 2012 have been identified as belonging to missing St. John resident Seara Samantha James, missing since October 2011.

James Gaston, a 25-year-old man set on fire during a domestic dispute Sept. 30 in Estate Paradise died Oct. 4 from injuries sustained, according to St. Croix Police.

On Oct. 18 at approximately 9:15 p.m., K’nesia Brathwaite, age 20, and Komorr Donastorg, age 24, were found in Estate Anna’s Retreat with multiple gunshot wounds to the body. Both victims were transported to Roy Schneider Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.

Major Crime detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of Jefferie Ramos, 38-year-old man of Estate Two Brothers, that occurred just minutes before 11 p.m. The victim was shot by unknown assailants in the residential area of Estate Two Brothers in Frederiksted. He was taken to the Juan F. Luis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have not released the name of the victim. When officers responding to a call of shots fired arrived at the scene they saw the victim on the ground a few feet from his home. Emergency medical technicians responding to the scene reported the victim showed no signs of life.

At about 11:15 a.m., 911 dispatchers told officers shots were reported fired in Estate Welcome, which is almost directly across from D.C. Canegeta Ballpark. When police arrived, they saw a white Suburban with three gunshot victims inside. Two of the victims, Darne Harvey and Johmancy Rawlins, died on the scene. The third was taken to Juan F. Luis Hospital for treatment.

At around 6:30 p.m., 21-year-old Omari Baltimore was shot near Bunker Hill (Garden Street, St. Thomas). Police and emergency medical technicians arriving at the scene a few minutes later and found no vital signs. Baltimore was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

At around 8 p.m., 27-year-old Alfonso L. Williams was found lying on the sidewalk unresponsive near the cockpit in Estate Glynn. Emergency Medical Technicians on the scene said the victim had no vital signs and he was transported to Juan F. Luis Hospital where he was later pronounced dead by medical staff.

Around 7 p.m. that night, police were notified 27 year-old Malvern VanBeverhoudt.victim was run over on Hospital Gade. The man was later identified as the Police say VanBeverhoudt was seen arguing with a man later identified as the 36 year-old-Powell, also known as “Jimmy” or “Stempy,” outside a business in Hospital Ground. Witnesses told police Powell punched VanBeverhoudt and ran off, according to the department. An autopsy indicated VanBeverhoudt was stabbed and Powell was arrested and charged in relation to Beverhoudt’s death in June of 2012.

At about 2:15 p.m., 37-year-old Guy Youngblood who was found unresponsive in front of his H H. Bergs Home apartment. Police said victim seemed to have scratches and what appeared to be dried blood on his neck when he was examined by EMTs. There were no signs of life, and police could not immediately determine the cause of death. An autopsy was performed and determined that a single gunshot to the neck caused the death of the victim.
