Raphael Jackson AA Baseball Weekend Results

Raymond Cintron at bat for the Hurricanes. There were five games in the Raphael Jackson AA Baseball League over the Weekend at the D.C. Canegata ballpark, beginning Friday with the 40 Plus Hurricanes handling the Dominicanos by a score of 13-6. The Yankees and the Cobras were Saturday’s winners, with the Cobras again victorious on Sunday along with the Vikings.
Hurricanes 13, Dominicanos 6
In Friday night’s contest the 40 Plus Hurricanes turned the tables on the Dominicanos by avenging a loss in their last matchup. The Hurricanes took a 13-6 victory with 13 runs on nine hits and five costly Dominicanos errors, while the Dominicanos finished with six runs on 12 hits and nine errors.
The winning pitcher was Javier Encarnacion: Daniel Franco got the loss.
Top batter for the Hurricanes was Raymond Cintron (2 for 3 with one RBI). For the Dominicanos, Tony Cruz was 2 for 2 with one RBI, Fernando Quezada and Miguel Rodriguez were 2 for 4, and Juan Monserate was 3 for 4.
Yankees 5, Vikings 2
In Saturday’s opening contest, Yankees pitcher Dushane Brown limited the Vikings to just two runs on four hits over seven innings to pick up the 5-2 victory. Antonio Watts got the loss for the Vikings.
The Yankees finished with five runs on nine hits and four Vikings errors, while the Vikings had two runs on four hits.
Top batters for the winners were Lakish Plante and Khalid Mathew (2 for 4 with one RBI), Ian Lewis (2 for 3 with one RBI), and Dwayne Harvey (2 for 3). For the Vikings, Mark Franklin was 2 for 4.
Cobras 13, Hurricanes 3
The Cobras avenged a Wednesday night loss to the 40 plus Hurricanes by whipping the geritol posse by a score of 13-3.
Grayson Plant and Emmanuel Martinez both went 2 for 3 with two RBIs to lead the youthful Cobras to victory. Raymond Cintron was the Hurricanes best hitter with a 2 for 3 night at the plate.
The Cobras finished with 13 runs on nine hits and two errors, while the Hurricanes had three runs on six hits, two errors and apparently very tired legs.
Otoniel Perrera pitched a strong game to get the win on the hill for the Cobras. David Samuel got the loss.
Vikings 7, Dominicanos 2
On Sunday Kenny Jackson allowed two runs on three hits in pitching the Vikings to a 7-3 victory over the Dominicanos. It was the Vikings with seven runs on 12 hits and five errors, while the Dominicanos finished with two runs on three hits and one error.
Top batters for the Vikings were Mark Franklin (4 for 5 with three RBIs), and Justino Navarro and Mark Knight were both 2 for 4. For the Dominicanos, Tony Peguero was 2 for 4.
Cobras 8, Yankees 7
Emmanuel Martinez pitched the Cobras to a hard fought 8-7 victory over the league-leading Yankees in Sunday’s late game. The Cobras finished with eight runs on eight hits and three errors, while the Yankees had seven runs on four hits and one error.
Top batter for the winners were Jose Martinez and Josh Torres, both 2 for 3 with one RBI. For the Yankees, Steve Simmonds was 1 for 1.
