Suns 10, Reds 5
In game one on Sunday, the Suns doubled up the Reds 10-5 behind the one-hit pitching of Juan Aponte. It was the Suns with 10 runs on four hits, while the Reds plated five runs on just one hit. Top batters for the Suns were Aponte (2 for 2 with a home run and three RBIs) and Marquis Sexius (2 for 3 with one RBI). For the Reds Jamain Morton was 1 for 2.

Expos 10, Angels 0
Lenny Berrios gave up just two hits in blanking the Angels 10-0 in Sunday’s late game. Angels pitching was not too shabby either in giving up just three hits, but their walks and miscues on the field were just too much to overcome. It was the Expos with 10 runs on three hits, while the Angels finished with two hits and did not score. Jesus Delerme got the loss for the Angels. Top batters for the Expos were Leon Cruz (1 for 2 with one RBI) and Chamoy Chandler (1 for 2 with two RBIs). For the Angels, Winston Tapia was 1 for 1, and Jahmoy Martinez was 1 for 2.
