St. Thomas Man Shot to Death

A 52-year-old man was shot and killed Wednesday near the Bergs Home housing community, according to the V.I. Police Department.

This is the 16th homicide on St. Thomas and the 27th in the territory for 2014.

VIPD spokeswoman Melody Rames said Friday that police found the victim in the road near Bergs Home. She was not able to identify the victim’s name. The victim was taken to the Schneider Regional Medical Center, where emergency room personnel said they treated him for multiple gunshot wounds to the body.

He died at the hospital.

Police are continuing the investigation, Rames said.
