Crime Stoppers: The Territory Does Not Support These Crimes

If you are a victim of a sexual assault or know of someone who has been a victim, please report the incident. It doesn’t matter if you are female or male, you have been harmed. Don’t let the perpetrator walk free and escape punishment for his or her criminal act against your person. And it doesn’t matter if the perpetrator is male or female; sexual assault is a crime.

If you know that this type of crime is occurring, report it. Make a difference in our islands and send a clear message that the Virgin Islands will not and do not support crime, especially this type.

St. Thomas: On July 5 at 2:30 a. m., a man pulled over at Raphune Hill dumpster to throw out his bottles. A vehicle pulled up adjacent to his vehicle before he was able to get out. Someone in the second vehicle fired several gunshots at him. The victim had to be treated for his injuries.

St. John: On July 10, police responded to a burglary at Columbo Smoothie Stand in Estate Carolina. The business was left locked and secured the night before at 6 p.m. and was discovered broken in to the next morning at 8:30. Several items stolen from the business include a stereo, CD player and several bottles of water. Please tell us or the police what you know about this crime.

Speak up. Be part of the solution. Continue to help make our islands a safer place to live, work and visit by telling us what you know about these, or any other crimes. Go online at www.CrimeStoppersUSVI.org or call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can also text “USVI” plus your message to CRIMES (274637). All three of these methods will keep you anonymous.

If your tip leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property, illegal drugs or weapons, you will receive a cash reward to be paid according to your instructions.
