Seaborne Begins Flying San Juan to Santo Domingo

Seaborne Airlines on Tuesday began daily nonstop service from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the airline announced Thursday.

“San Juan to Santo Domingo provides another access point to the U.S. market and reinforces the importance of Puerto Rico as a connecting point in the Caribbean,” Gary D. Foss, president and chief executive officer of Seaborne parent company Sea Star Holdings, said in the press release.

Santo Domingo is Seaborne’s fourth destination within the Dominican Republic. The others are La Romana, which began in December 2013; Punta Cana, which started Feb. 14; and Santiago, which launched March 15.

Flights between San Juan and Santo Domingo depart San Juan at 8 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. They leave Santo Domingo at 10 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Flights take one hour and 15 minutes.

Fares start as low as $99 one way with taxes and fees included. Flights can be reserved via www.seaborneairlines.com, Expedia, Travelocity or through your local travel agency.

Seaborne provides service to 18 airports throughout the Caribbean as well as connecting service to American, Jet Blue and Delta in San Juan.

The airline flies to San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Croix, Vieques, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Dominica, Martinique, Guadeloupe, La Romana, Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, Santiago, St. Maarten, and St. Kitts and Nevis.

Seaborne recently announced that it will provide customers with a $200 gift certificate for each $1,000 added to their travel accounts.
