Crime Stoppers: No Tipster Ever Identified

Crime Stoppers pays. Let’s make sure that crime doesn’t pay. If you know something, say something as law enforcement cannot control crime without the help of the law-abiding community. Crime Stoppers knows people are hesitant to speak out because it is hard to know who to trust. That’s why Crime Stoppers was started. In the three decades since Crime Stoppers has been in existence, no one providing a tip has ever been compromised.

St. Croix: Buying or selling stolen property is a crime. The minimum reward for the arrest of someone buying or selling stolen goods is $536. In all cases the reward is increased by 10 percent of the retail value of stolen goods recovered. Our maximum reward is $2,500.

St. John: VIPD continues to seek the community’s assistance in solving the homicide of James “Jim” Malfetti, who was found dead in his apartment in Chocolate Hole. A 46-inch Sanyo TV and a silver/white iPhone 5S were stolen from his home. Please tell us what you know about this murder or of anyone selling a 46” Sanyo TV or a silver/white iPhone 5S. Please note: it is our understanding that the family of Mr. Malfetti is offering a much larger reward than Crime Stoppers. To qualify for that reward you MUST CALL 305-814-9691.

St. Thomas: On March 31 at 2:50 p.m., two employees of Innovative were providing technical service at Doctor Maynard’s Building when two masked males approached them from behind and robbed them at gunpoint. A black weapon was used by one of the suspects. They removed a 14kt gold wedding band, chain and bracelet before running off into the shortcut that leads to Paul M. Pearson Garden.

Please continue to work for the good of all by telling us what you know about these, or any other crimes, at www.CrimeStoppersUSVI.org or by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). You can also text “USVI” plus your message to CRIMES (274637). If your tip leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property, illegal drugs or weapons, you will receive a cash reward to be paid according to your instructions.
