Hovensa Drops Rack Rate Again

The wholesale price of gas from Hovensa's rack continued its several-month decline this week, with the former refinery reducing the price of regular by five cents per gallon to $2.92 per gallon, and premium by a whopping 11 cents to $3.24 per gallon for the week of July 9-15.

Hovensa held prices unchanged for the week of July 1-8. The week before that, it reduced the price of regular by five cents per gallon and increased the price of premium by three cents.

The drop marks three months of steady downward movement in prices, since the week of the week of April 9-15 when they reached the all-time high price of $3.68 and $3.97 per gallon.

Prices do not include the territory's seven-cents per gallon fuel tax.
