District Launches Educational Strategic Plan

An Educational Strategic Plan to improve instruction and student academic performance will be launched by the St. Croix school district from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at the St. Croix Curriculum Center.  The theme for the plan is “Creating Schools in St. Croix that Provide a World-Class Education for All Students.”
“The intent of the district is to create a professional and physical environment that is collaborative and welcoming, which also promotes engagement, positive relationships and social, emotional and intellectual development,” said Superintendent Gary Molloy.
Non-profit organizations, such as the Parent-Teacher’s Associations (P.T.A.’s) and other parental groups are also being invited to the launching. This will ensure that all stakeholders involved in the process are committed to carrying out the plan through completion.
The plan poses seven challenges to stakeholders in the educational process: 1) Real-time data-driven improvement, 2) Extended learning opportunity, 3) Standards based curriculum and assessment, 4) Unified culture of excellence, 5) Leadership effectiveness, 6) Teacher effectiveness, and 7) Student performance and engagement.
