Ronald McDonald Govan, also known as “Doc G” and “Slim,” died on Sept. 25.
He is survived by his loving spouse, Hazeline Martin-Govan; daughters: Sandra Burton, Edith Francis, Sarah Govan, Helena Govan and Bianca Govan; sons: Dion Govan, Dolphus Ramsey, Dave Looby, Troy Govan, Ronald Govan Jr., Timothy Govan and David Govan; 30 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters: Cynthia Langley, Florence Isaac, Eileen Archibald, Anita Isaac and others too numerous to mention; brothers: Allan Isaac, Leroy Jackson, Percy Isaac, James Isaac, Winston Brownhill and others too numerous to mention; nieces: Patricia Sage, Aldeen Isaac, Sonia Shannon and Faith Watley; and nephews: Leroy James, Joseph James, Glenford James, Alden Isaac and Kevin Jackson.
He is also survived by sisters-in-law: Debbie Isaac, Sharon Jackson, Barbara Martin and Victoria Martin; brothers-in-law: Albert James Sr., Sidney Archibald Sr. and Gregory Langley; sons-in-law: Philip Francis Sr. and Randolph Burton; daughters-in-law: Sarah E. Govan, Physcilla Govan, Martina Looby and Deirdliber Govan; special friends: Paulette Hodge and family, Cassandra Looby and family, Maud Francis and family, Linda and Jim, Charlotte First Wesleyan Holiness Church N.C., Trinity And Beeston Hill Wesleyan Holiness Church family, Lorraine Village family, Hess, Metro Motors, STX Taxi Association, Carambola Hotel and Martin Marietta, The Dominoes Club by Five Corners Gas Station and Sen. Kenneth Gittens; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, at Beeston Hill Wesleyan Holiness Church, Beeston Hill. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
