Sylvester Ivan McIntosh Jr. Dies at 48

Sylvester Ivan McIntosh Jr. Sylvester Ivan McIntosh Jr., also known as "Junie,” ”Junior,” “Iceman” or “Sylvester," of Estate Anna’s Hope died on Sept. 16. He was 48 years old.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Stanislaus McIntosh.
He is survived by his wife, Delta Vallarde McIntosh; mother, Joan Juanita Petersen; father Sylvester I. McIntosh Sr.; stepmother, Mary McIntosh; stepdaughters: Ann-Marie Edney, Michelle Edney and Kristine Edney; stepson, Orsel Edney III; stepgrandchildren: Christian and Alexander Edney; sisters: Melba Kelso, Karen McIntosh Bruce, Sandra McIntosh, Annette McIntosh-Christain, Hollis McIntosh, Christine McIntosh and Laurene McIntosh.
He is also survived by nieces: Schanel Silvest, Akeena Pareira, Akisha Thomas, Solé Rivera, Annetta Herve and Isaura Fairfax; nephews: Jermaine, Maurice, Timothy, Trumaine Kelso, Sean Smith, Carl Pereira, Rashid Isles, Kalid Bruce, Ahsan and Ari Fairtax; aunt, Ann V. Parris; uncles: Julio and Mario Petersen; daughter-in-law, Mykel Edney; brothers-in-law: Harrison Kelso Jr., Eusevio Christian Jr., David Bruce, Delroy Bates, Leroy Bates and Elroy Vallarde Sr.
Other survivors include sisters-in-law: Laverne Bates, Nathania Bates, Leandra Anita Bates and Cassandra Vallarde Cintron; mother-in-law, Rita Vallarde; special friends: Carvell James and Anastacia (Carino Trucking), and Pastor Dexter and Terry Skepple; cousins and other relatives: the Henderson family, Petersen family, Ann Parris and family, Virginia Peter and family, McIntosh family, Larry Johnson and family, and Maria Brewster Hernandez and family; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The family requests that persons attending funeral services wear festive colors.
A viewing will be held 9:30 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Frederiksted Cemetery.
