Evelyn Eve Phillip Dead at 61

 Evelyn Eve Phillip, also known as “Ms. Phillip,” of Queen Cross Street died on Monday, Dec. 13 at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital. She was 61 years old.

She is survived by her mother, Geneva Pope; sons: Wave Phillip and Alvin Joseph; grandchildren: Kendall Jahkeem, Rainea Stephanie Phillip and Nathaniel John James Joseph; sisters: Faithina, Evelina, Millicent and Eastlyn Pope; brothers: Peter, Kenny, Alwin, Ivan and Aaron Pope; sons girlfriends: Ginette Garcia and Genevieve Ballentine; and 44 nieces and nephews, including: Roxanna, Doreen, Akinda, Ancilla, India, Faithlyn, Emerline, Uslyn Desarie Vanlyn, Kendol, Nicholson, Keston and Akim Pope, Lennox Phillip, Devon and Randy Delfish, and Merl Simpson.
She is also survived by great niece, Marissa McQueen; great nephew, Johnathan Pope; sisters-in-law: Veronica, Rita and Anderlyn Pope, and Ester Bain; brother-in-law, Ranold George; cousins and other relatives: Lydris Smith, Leroy and Lera Jeffery of Tivloi, Margaret Daniel and the family of Rose Hill, Marvin Gibbs and family of Woburn, the Pope families of Carriacou and Grenada, and the neighbors and friends of La Poterie and surrounding areas; special friends: Margaret Jacobs, Janet Smith, Janet Millet, Alexandra Hickson, Patsy and Caipha Farrell, Mr. and Mrs. Hercules, and the Pearle B. Larsen School family; as well as many other relatives and friends to numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, at the James Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Her funeral service will take place in Grenada, West Indies, where she will be laid to rest.
