USVI HTA Awards Contract to Herald Custom Publishing and Media Marketing

The (USVIHTA) United States Virgin Islands Hotel and Tourism Association has just announced the renewal of its publishing agreement with Herald Custom Publishing and Media Marketing. HCP (www.DiscoverUSVImagazine.com) and Media Marketing (www.mediamarketinginc.net) will once again spearhead the effort to produce two vital publications for the USVIHTA which showcase members of the association as well as places to see and the many things to do on the islands of St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix.
HCP and Media Marketing will produce two important tourist related pieces: “Places to Explore,” which is a soft cover publication that has prominent placement in member hotel lobbies, and “Discover,” which is a luxury, lifestyle coffee table magazine that has exclusive placement in the member hotel guest rooms.
“We went out to competitive bid and are pleased that while we received many wonderful proposals, HCP will once again help to drive our marketing efforts as a premier travel destination through these two dynamic publications which highlight all that the islands have to offer the guests who visit,” said Lisa Hamilton, president, USVIHTA.
HCP and Media Marketing have been producing the publications for the past five years, and the new agreement is a renewal of five more years. Both publications will be redesigned to reflect the dynamic growth and development of the many new and recently renovated attractions, restaurants, retail offerings and resorts on the islands.
“We at HCP are very committed to the United States Virgin Islands and pleased to have the privilege to continue our relationship,” said Garry Duell, Group Publisher & CEO of HCP/Aboard Publishing, Custom Publishing Division of The Miami Herald Media Company. “Our mission is to assist in bringing people to the islands through the comprehensive value added program, promoting the USVI in several of our sister newspapers throughout the United States, all being funded through a portion of the proceeds of the in room book “Discover” and in lobby digest guide “Places to Explore.” Hamilton said the publications are designed to be user-friendly and added that she believes that the partnership will only further brand the islands of the USVI. “Our goal is to increase tourism to travelers who come to us from across the nation and world-wide in an effort to continue to feature the USVI as the world-class destination in the Caribbean.”
