Hovensa Awards Scholarships to Four Graduates

July 10, 2008 – Hovensa L.L.C. has awarded scholarship grants to four recent graduates of Virgin Islands high schools to study at a U.S. college or university of their choice. The recipients of the grants are:
· Monika M. Hendrickson, a graduate of the Educational Complex High School, who plans to study nursing at Florida International University
· Alexandra M. James, a graduate of the Educational Complex H.S., who plans to study engineering at North Carolina State University
· Taniya M. Laurencin, a graduate of St. Joseph H.S., who plans to study accounting and computer science at Seton Hall University
· Bianca M. Moscia-Harley, a graduate of Charlotte Amalie H.S., who plans to study arts and design at Ringling College of Arts and Design.
The grants are for four years provided the students maintain good academic standing.
Vice President Alex Moorhead stated that in addition to these recent high school graduates, 21 V.I. residents who graduated from high school during the previous three years would receive scholarship grants from Hovensa for the 2008-2009 academic year. He stated that the company would issue grants totaling approximately $80,000 this year.
